STRATEGIST

Job Title: Strategist

Terms of Employment: Full-Time

Reports To: VP Strategy

Location:  Toronto (Hybrid or Remote)

T1 is a full-stack sponsorship and experiences agency—driven by purpose, powered by community.

In a sea of sameness, where brands are fighting to be seen and struggling to be felt, we create bold, unforgettable partnerships and experiences that ignite real communities. From strategic sponsorships to creative activations, we turn big ideas into moments that move people and make an impact.

Because in a world of skips, blocks, and being ignored—we build what lasts: trust, connection, and belonging.

Role Overview:

As a Strategist at T1, you bring both brains and heart to every brief. You turn curiosity into clarity and insights into ideas that inspire connection and creativity. You understand culture, you see patterns others miss, and you can articulate what makes people care about brands, communities, and causes.

You’re equal parts researcher and storyteller. You use data, empathy, and intuition to shape strategies that are clear, grounded, and creatively inspiring. Whether building a partnership platform, shaping a campaign, or unlocking a new audience, you help make strategy feel human, not theoretical.

In this role, you’ll be part of the Strategy & Creative team, connecting insights to ideas and ideas to impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Shape early-stage strategy: partner on discovery and analysis, turning insights into briefs, frameworks, and recommendations that spark ideas and guide creative direction.

  • Bring strategy to life: write inspiring creative briefs and strategic narratives that translate insights into actionable concepts and campaign ideas.

  • Support channel and communication planning: connect strategies across digital, experiential, media, PR, and sponsorship channels to ensure every touchpoint is audience-first and culturally relevant.

  • Conduct thoughtful research: use vendor tools, syndicated sources, and digital ethnography to uncover how communities connect, what drives behaviour, and where whitespace opportunities lie.

  • Translate insight into story: build decks and visual stories that connect data, culture, and creativity, bringing strategy to life in ways that are clear, compelling, and actionable.

  • Advance our practice: collaborate with the Strategy team to design frameworks, tools, and repeatable processes that strengthen how we think, create, and deliver strategy across T1.

 Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in brand, sponsorship, or creative strategy within a marketing, media, or advertising agency.

  • Proven ability to turn insights into stories, strategies, and creative springboards that inspire impactful work.

  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to connect audience truths, cultural trends, and brand purpose.

  • Experienced in building presentations, briefs, and frameworks that communicate strategy simply and powerfully.

  • Skilled in qualitative and quantitative research, including interviews, surveys, and data synthesis.

  • Proficiency with research and planning tools such as YouGov, Vividata, or similar platforms.

  • We know great strategists come from different paths. If you bring strong strategic thinking, curiosity, and a collaborative mindset, we want to hear from you even if you don’t meet every single requirement.

You’ll Thrive Here If You:

  • Bring structure and clarity to complex problems, digging deep and coming back with a smart, clear path forward.

  • Shape stories, not just summaries, connecting the dots between data, culture, and opportunity to write strategy that sparks creativity and drives results.

  • Collaborate across teams and disciplines, building trust through thoughtful thinking and high-quality work.

  • Are known for your curiosity and rigour, and always looking for ways to turn insight into meaningful action.

  • Believe in using creativity and strategy to build community and make an impact.
